I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. I work with children (ages 7 and up), teens and adults. I have over 20 years of experience as a social worker and have worked with many individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings. in addition to private practice, I have worked In Inpatient and outpatient mental health clinics, public schools, and hospitals. I have extensive experience in assessment and can quickly analyze situations and provide clinically sound feedback and treatment plans to help reach your goals. I don't tell clients what to do, but rather help them figure out what works best for them in their personal situation. as a social worker, I am also well versed in seeking out and providing supplemental resources as needed for my clients.
I am a client centered therapist who believes in empowering my clients and treating the whole person as I have found this approach provides the best outcomes for my clients. I tailor my approach to the individual and the specific issues and goals of the client. I work in a warm, direct and collaborative manner with my clients to help develop a deeper understanding of themselves and to resolve personal challenges and relationship conflicts.
Personal Life:
I am married and have two children (College age) and two lovable dogs. Yes, I am a big dog lover and one of my fluffs is a therapy dog in training. Between my private practice and family, I have a pretty busy life, but really enjoy all of my different roles and always try to accommodate clients' schedules. I take care of myself by working out regularly and have created a respectable home gym and love outdoor activities. In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding, riding instructing at a local therapeutic riding program, paddling, scuba diving, hiking, LISTENING TO music, SINGING, spoiling our dogs, DIY home improvement and HOME decorating. I grew up in california (bay ARea) and have also lived in sacramento, San Diego and Scottsdale, AZ. We recently moved to Kailua, Hawaii and are excited to begin the next chapter of our lives.
